Dear Bong Ho,
In countries like Malawi, temperatures dip below freezing; and many girls and boys who have only ragged, threadbare clothes to wear are vulnerable to deadly diseases like pneumonia. Nine-year-old Mabvuto is one of them.
Orphaned as an infant, he is being raised by his Aunt Fiona, a widow struggling to care for seven children. Mabvuto and the others are often sick during the cold winter months. And due to a lack of basic medicines, even a mild respiratory infection can become life-threatening pneumonia. Just a basic, warm sweater could make all the difference.
"Mabvuto has never felt how it feels to put on new clothes and shoes," his aunt says, her eyes filling with tears. Her family prays together every night that God will protect them.
You can help answer the prayers of children like Mabvuto and their families. Because World Vision has received donated clothing and medicines from leading companies, your gift today will multiply 12X in impact to help children like Mabvuto around the world. You'll help provide items like pants, dresses, jackets, sweaters, shoes, and more — plus antibiotics, antifungals, pain relievers, and other essential medicines to keep children from suffering and dying needlessly.
With warm clothes and the right medicines to fight infection, you'll give a child the chance they need to grow up healthy and strong.
God bless you,
Rich Stearns
