Meet the children A SPONSORED CHILD GIVES BACK
Just a little boy in Uganda, Willy Ssekibuule cried almost every day from the endless struggle to survive. But when he got his own sponsor, his family received transformational help and life got better. At age 15, both of Willy's parents died of AIDS. World Vision and his sponsor faithfully continued to help. And when Willy grew up, he started a ministry to help others in his community.

ONE COW CHANGES A FAMILY'S FUTURE
Sashmita, 19, and Chirasmita, 15, grew up in wretched poverty in India — until World Vision gave their family a cow. That was the beginning of a new, healthy life and a thriving milk business. Today, the family has overcome poverty, and both girls are excelling in school. Sashmita (left), a former sponsored child, now attends college and plans to be a teacher.

10-year-old Shahana grew up in northwest Pakistan where education was banned for girls. Then fighting also broke out. Shahana's family fled. When they returned, schools were damaged and food was scarce. World Vision is rebuilding schools in Shahana's community, making education available to all children, including girls like Shahana. Now she wants to become a teacher someday.
